Software Installation

Q:  No instructions were included with the media; how do I install the course software?

A:  See Instructions to the Course Administrator in Student Text Unit 1.

Note: If installing from AS/400 media to a RISC-based system you may want to specify FRCOBJCVN(*YES  *RQD) on the RSTLIB command.

Q:  How do I determine the name of my tape (or diskette) drive?

A:  Execute the command WRKDEVD *TAP (or *DKT). The name of the device will be displayed in the column labeled "DEVICE".

Course Administration

Q:  The Course Administrator ID has been changed.

A:  To determine the current Course Administrator ID, execute the command DSPDTAARA ATSxxxx/ATSCA where xxxx is the course code.

Q:  I get an error when I try to enroll a new student - CPF5134 I/O error.

A:  Try re-executing the ATSLOAD command to re-grant authority to the course user profile.

Q:  I get an error when I select the option to display version information.

A:  On V3R1, the data area containing system version information was moved from QSYS to QUSRSYS. You may retrieve the program source, modify and recompile it.

Q:  I'm taking a course on a PC; where is the HELP key?

A:  The Scroll Lock key is usually defined as the AS/400 HELP key.

Q:  When I try to sign on using the course ID and password, I receive error message CPF1134 -- duplicate entries in *LIBL for QTEMP (or QGPL). What should I do?

A:  Sign on with an ID that has security officer authority and execute the command CHGJOBD ATSxxxx/ATSJOBD INLLIBL(ATSxxxx) where 'xxxx' is the course code.

A:  Contact our customer service department or your sales representative to order a replacement.

Q:  How can I determine if the course software has been installed?

A:  Execute the command WRKLIB ATS* to display course libraries.

Q:  What is the "New Line" key?

A:  On a non-programmable workstation, the "New Line" key is Shift+Field Exit. On a PC its location is dependent on the emulation software and keyboard mapping being used.

Q:  Where can I obtain the AS/400 Toolbox for Java Mod2?
